This knowledge community is brought together by a common concern for learning and an interest to explore issues of concern in the fields of aging and society, and in their social interconnections and implications.
We are inviting proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or colloquia (See Proposal Types) addressing aging and society through one of the following themes:
|Economic and Demographic Perspectives on Aging||Medical Perspectives on Aging, Health, Wellness|
|Public Policy and Public Perspectives on Aging||Social and Cultural Perspectives on Aging|
|Special Focus 2015: Inter-Generational Relationships|
Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered. For more information about the ideas and themes underlying this community, see Our Focus.
We also offer participation options for those individuals who cannot attend the conference. Authors who wish to submit an article for potential publication in the The International Journal of Aging and Society may submit a Proposal for Article Submission, while all members of the knowledge community with an accepted proposal may submit an online presentation to the knowledge community YouTube channel.
The 2015 Aging and Society Conference will be held 5-6 November 2015 in Washington D.C, United Sates at The Catholic University of America. Washington D.C is home to world famous museums, monuments, and buildings. It’s also home to many research institutions and resources for the study of aging including the D.C Office on Aging, a National Council on Aging, and LeadingAge to name a few. Recently, Washington D.C also became the leading US city for senior living. For these reasons, Washington D.C is the perfect city to discuss the fastest growing segment of the population for the 2015 Aging and Society Conference.
